Let me take you back to one evening in September 2023. Because my hubby and I found ourselves in the same position yesterday afternoon. Lol Guess which option we went with this time
Ezra: daddy, mummy my tooth came out. I’m so excited. I am going to get money.
Daddy, mummy and Ariah are so excited and join in the celebration.
Daddy: ummmm mummy, it’s a tight one.
Mummy already knows what daddy means. We don’t have any change on us. This tooth was taking forever.
Ezra: I’m cleaning it, wrapping it in tissue and going to put it under my pillow. I cannot wait to see how much money I’m getting. You know I love money.
Mummy trying to bring Jesus into it to see if he will let this one pass. It’s not good to love money Ezra. There are more important things in life.
Ezra: I know mum but this is exciting. I’m excited. I have waited so long for this tooth to fall out. Now I’m getting money.
Children both asleep. Parents have important meeting.
What are our options:
1. We leave a toy under the pillow. Nope our son is waiting for money.
2.ok we leave the large note and ask Ezra for change! Explain that to a child.
3. Tooth fairy leaves a note explaining that his tooth fell out too late and the banks were closed so she will be back tomorrow night.
4. We break into his piggy bank and give him something from there. I mean it’s going back to him anyway. And we will top up the next day ….
5. We give him the $2 USD we just found in our drawer while searching for coins. Tooth fairy could say she flew in from America.
6. Leave him a bank card with a note from the tooth fairy saying, she put the money in daddy’s account. Please withdraw £xxx.
We went with option 3—slightly tweaked. The tooth fairy wasn’t waking up for any note business. This tooth fairy needed rest! So I quickly explained: “Oops, your tooth fell out too late- the Banks close at 3pm!” I don’t know why for a second, I was thinking of Zimbabwean bank hours. But I got away with it. Lol
Tooth fairy will be ready tonight once her husband passes through the ATM😂🤣
