Others came, saw, and walked away. But Mary stayed.
She stood outside the tomb, weeping.
Broken. Confused. Empty.
She came with love in her hands, ready to anoint her Saviour… But there was no body to be found.
What do you do when what you expected is gone?
When what you held onto no longer makes sense?
The disciples looked in, then left.
But Mary couldn’t.
She stayed in her sorrow.
She stood in her pain.
She wept where she was.
It was there—not after she had it all together; not when answers were finally hers; not once she moved on. Right there, in her brokenness, everything changed.
She looked again.
She listened.
And then… He spoke.
“Mary.”
One word.
Her name.
And suddenly, grief turned to joy.
Despair turned to hope.
Loss turned to life.
Everything changes when Jesus calls your name.
Maybe today, you feel like Mary. Others may have been able to walk away from what hurt you… But you’re still there.
Still carrying it.
Still weeping.
Still wondering, “What now?”
Hear this today: Jesus meets you exactly where you are.
You don’t have to move first.
You don’t have to fix yourself.
You don’t have to pretend you’re okay.
Right there in your pain, He calls your name.
He sees you.
He knows you.
He has not forgotten you.
And just as Mary’s story is not ending in sorrow, neither is yours.
Resurrection is still speaking.
Hope is still alive.
The same Jesus who called her is calling you.
And when you hear Him, may your tears turn into joy.
May your mourning turn into hope.
May your heart be reminded—you are seen, you are chosen, and you are deeply loved.
He chose to reveal Himself to first, to Mary.
And today, He is revealing His heart to you.
Stay if you need to.
Weep if you must.
But listen closely:
He’s calling your name. Happy blessed Resurrection Sunday.
