Consistency

✨ Wisdom Wednesday: The Power of Consistency ✨

Last night, as my husband prayed, one word stood out—consistency. This word immediately reminded me of my  last week—and a conversation with a friend yesterday.

Last week was one of the hardest weeks for me. I felt overwhelmed in a way I can’t fully explain (a story for another time). It was the kind of week that actually broke my smile. The days when you show up physically but, internally, you’re just trying to hold it together.

But yesterday morning was different. Before work, as usual, I spent time in prayer—and I truly felt God strengthen me for the day ahead. Not that everything suddenly changed around me… but something shifted within me.

I walked in… lighter. Stronger. Steadier.

And throughout the day, I had this song playing over and over in my mind:
“Come down,
Spirit, when You move,
You make my heart pound
When You fill the room
You’re here and I know You are moving
I’m here and I know You will fill me”

I found myself quietly humming it without even thinking.
And in the middle of a normal, busy day… that song became my anchor. A gentle reminder that I was not alone. Jesus was with me and fuming me up as I continued to pour myself out.

So I smiled. I served. I showed up as me. Not because everything was perfect, but because I refused to let my feelings dictate who I am.

Then later, a conversation stopped me in my tracks.
A friend said she was thinking of not doing something—not because it was wrong, but because of how someone else had treated her.

And in that moment, I felt the Lord whisper so clearly:
“Don’t let another person’s actions rewrite who you are.” And I shared it with her.

And it made me wonder…
How many of us have slowly changed—not because we wanted to, but because life, disappointment, or people wore us down?
Maybe you used to be more joyful…
More patient…
More loving…
More willing…
But somewhere along the way, you pulled back.

May this be your reminder today:
Don’t stop being kind because someone was unkind.
Don’t stop showing up because someone overlooked you.
Don’t lower your standard because someone else lowered theirs.
You don’t have to become cold because others were careless
You don’t have to become silent because others were loud
You don’t have to become less because others gave less

Stay consistent. Be who God created you to be, regardless of circumstances.

Consistency isn’t just about what you do… It’s about remaining true to yourself, no matter what comes your way.

So keep showing up.
Keep loving.
Keep giving your best.
Keep going the extra mile—even when it’s not returned.
Because your consistency is not in vain.

Even when people don’t see it… God does.
Even when it’s not recognised… it matters.
Even when it’s hard… it’s shaping you.
And in due time, you will see the fruit of every seed you refused to stop planting.
Remain consistent—in character, faith, and who you are.
